METALLURGICAL AND MATERIALS ENGINEERING

DEPARTMENT INTRODUCTION

Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Department; Our Faculty of Engineering was established after the establishment date of 1991, after Computer, Environment, Industry, Electric-Electronic, Chemistry and Mechanical Engineering, in 1997, with the introduction of Materials Science and Production Metallurgy Departments. Our department started education in 2000-2001 academic year. Our department opened the Master's program in the 2003-2004 academic year and the Doctorate program in the 2009-2010 academic year.

Program Profile

Metallurgical and Materials engineering department; It is an engineering branch of design, development, production, and conversion to products that society needs by using theoretical and applied information about material structure. Since the beginning of civilization, various materials have been used to raise the standard of human living with energy. New designs in many engineering disciplines depend entirely on the development of new materials. In this program, our students are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary for the development of high-tech materials. In the courses offered to our students, theoretical and practical information is given on the process-microstructure-feature-performance relationship and the factors affecting material behavior during use. In addition, we try to provide the necessary opportunities to raise individuals who are experts in their fields, who are researchers, who aim to learn throughout life, prepare and manage projects, observe the environment and developments, are prone to multi-discipline and group work.

Research Topics

  • Biocompatible material development.
  • Electrical and Magnetic Properties of Materials, application of fuel cells.
